Krishna Red Tulsi Basil - Ocimum tenuiflorum
Couldn't load pickup availability
Tulsi is a culturally significant basil species/variety in Ayurvedic medicine and has other traditional uses in India as well. In other areas of south/Southeast Asia it's found its way into culinary uses, especially in Thailand.
This cultivar, depending on growing conditions can be nearly fully red but when shaded will have green leaves. Very intense scent and much appreciated as a tea plant. Generally considered a perennial type, over time this species will become a woody stemmed small bush and if protected from frost will last a few years. Trimming flowers will keep the plant in a vegetative growth state and will allow for larger growth.
Plants offered are in 3.5 inch square pots and generally 3-6 inches tall.
