Due to the weight/bulkiness of these flats we are not offering shipping on these and must be picked up mid October from our location north of Clermont. 

It's that time of year! Time to start thinking about planting strawberries in our winter gardens. Below is the description of the varieties we are offering this year, each order is a flat of 50 well rooted plug plants- these establish significantly faster than bare roots will minimal to no loss. Plugs are planting on easy mode compared to bare roots!

‘Ember’ - last year we took a year off from selling strawberry plants to take a season to personally evaluate the new UF variety releases and trial them alongside some older varieties. Hands down our favorite was ‘Ember’, highly fragrant and sweet berries, very consistent production all season long (many of the newer UF types cycle through larger harvests throughout the season which is great for commercial growers picking acres at a time but leas desirable for home growers interested in more consistent production). UF also touts ‘Ember’ as a good choice for organic production as its highly resistant to funguses and other pathogens and we agree, our grow remained very health the entire season and into the hot months. 

‘Florida Pearl’ - aka Pineberry. A delicious white to pink blushing fruit that has comparable production and disease tolerance to other UF types but offers a unique look and flavor profile! If you’ve only them from the grocery this variety is done a disservice by picking early due to the shipping demands of the commercial produce market- when allowed to fully, truly ripen to a slightly pink blush on homegrown plants this variety is a flavor explosion- definitely some tangy pineapple undertones and a great sweet/tart balance.
