Taro - Colocasia esculenta

Taro is a well adapted root crop for central FL - this selection is a mixed bag of some types we've acquired over the years. Typically these would be planted in the spring from dormant bulbils and harvested in the fall. Appreciated in many cultures around the world, can be baked, boiled, used in soups and stews, and dehydrated into chips and works well in recipes where potatoes would. 

Appreciates well irrigated conditions and can grow in part shade to full sun.
